KYIV, Ukraine – Ukraine’s President has thrown the door wide open for a new peace push, confirming a “very serious conversation” with a high-level US delegation that delivered a surprise blueprint for ending the bloody conflict.
In a huge diplomatic bombshell, the Ukrainian leader revealed that he is expecting to speak with US President Donald Trump in the coming days, acknowledging that America’s power is the key to finally securing a “real peace”.
The high-stakes meeting saw Washington’s representatives table their full “points of a plan to end the war – their vision,” according to the war-torn country’s leader.
”The American side presented its proposals – the points of a plan to end the war – their vision,” he stated. “We agreed that our teams will work on these proposals to ensure it’s all genuine.”
But the Ukrainian President warned that there will be no surrender to Moscow’s terms, insisting that any deal must be a “dignified peace” that respects Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty.
He is desperate to avoid a repeat of the brutal invasion, stressing that the peace must be one “that will not be broken by a third invasion.”
The revelation of the US plan comes as Kyiv slams Russia for having “no real desire for peace,” claiming the Kremlin is only interested in delaying sanctions and “buy[ing] more time for its war.”
The Ukrainian President is now dedicating “one hundred percent” of his time to achieving a breakthrough.
He is coordinating frantic talks with European allies, including Finnish President Stubb and French President Macron, but admitted all eyes are on Washington.
He stressed: “The United States has the power to ensure that Russia’s willingness to end the war finally becomes serious. I will continue working for this one hundred percent.”
The stage is now set for a major new diplomatic offensive, with the President pledging “clear and honest work – Ukraine, the United States, and our friends and partners in Europe and around the world.”
