TRUMP NOMINATES GLAWE, HAYES FOR KEY ADMIN POSITIONS

WASHINGTON, United States – President Donald J. Trump has announced his intention to nominate David J. Glawe of Iowa, to be Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis at the Department of Homeland Security.




He also announced Rear Admiral Robert P. Hayes of Connecticut, to be acting Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis at the Department of Homeland Security.

Rear Admiral Hayes is a 29-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and currently serves as the Coast Guard’s Assistant Commandant for Intelligence.

Glawe on the other hand is a career member of the Senior Executive Service, currently serving as the Assistant Commissioner at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Intelligence.

Recently, Mr. Glawe served as acting Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis at the Department. He has more than 24 years of national security and law enforcement experience, including service as Deputy National Intelligence Manager for Threat Finance and Transnational Organized Crime at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, as a Counterterrorism Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and as a Federal Agent with the United States Postal Inspection Service.




Glawe began his career as a police officer with the Houston Police Department. Mr. Glawe received the National Intelligence Superior Service Medal for his contributions to the U.S. Intelligence Community and his meritorious actions to the betterment of national security.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Iowa and is a graduate of the Senior Managers in Government program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
