WASHINGTON, United States – President of the United States has named Director of the CIA, Mike Pompeo as the new Secretary of State. He is succeeding Rex Tillerson, who was today relieved of his position as Secretary of State.
Trump, who made the announcement on his tweeter account said Pompeo will do a fantastic job as Secretary of State. He also thanked Tillerson for his service to the nation. Tump also named Gina Haspel as new director of CIA.
“Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all”, he said.
