LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 154 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 168, 867. But out of the 168, 867 cases, 164, 623 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 125 patients could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 2, 119 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while 1 patient died in the last 24 hours.
“NCDC: 154 cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos – 119, Akwa Ibom – 11, Rivers – 6, Oyo – 5, Ekiti- 4, Ogun- 4, FCT – 2, Gombe – 2, Kwara – 1: 168, 867 confirmed; 164, 623 discharged; 2, 125 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 187, 614, 492 all time cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 045, 252 patients have passed on, while 3, 491,295, 571 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide, based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country, reporting 33,903, 217 confirmed cases, while 607, 645 patients have lost their lives to the pandemic(26, 345 new cases and 256 deaths*), followed by India, which has reported 30, 907, 282 all time infections, while 410, 784 lives have perished(32, 906 new cases and 2020 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 19, 106, 971 all time infections, while 534,233 lives have perished(17, 031 new cases and 745 deaths*).
France remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 5, 882,937 confirmed cases, while 111,597 lives have perished (6958 new cases and 54 deaths*), followed by Russia, which has documented 5, 762, 211 all time cases, while 142,102 patients are no more(24, 211 new cases and 767 deaths*) and Turkey which has registered 5, 493, 244 all time cases, while 50, 324 patients have been killed by the pandemic(28, 150 new cases and 228 deaths*).
The United Kingdom remains the 7th country most afflicted, reporting 5, 210,211 confirmations and 128,747 deaths(37,034 new cases and 50 deaths*), followed by Argentina with 4, 662, 937 all time cases, while 99, 255 lives have been lost to the pandemic(14, 989 new cases and 474 deaths*) and Colombia, now reporting 4, 530, 610 all time cases, while 113,335 patients have died(58, 988 new cases and 1604 deaths*).
Italy has come up as the 10th country worst hit with 4, 273,693 all time cases, while 127, 808 lives have perished(1530 new cases and 20 deaths*) and South Africa(18), with 2, 219,316 total cases so far recorded, while 65, 142 lives are no more(12, 535 new cases and 633 deaths*).
