Tompolo Acquires Norwegian Torpedo Boats to Battle Pirates

December 13, 2014 – Former Leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Mr. Government Ekpemupolo has allegedly acquired six Norwegian torpedo boats to battle pirates along the West African coastline.

The boats according to the Norwegian newspaper, Dagbladet, were originally sold to a British shell company two years ago.

Tompolo allegedly acquired the boats for his security outfit, Global West Vessel Specialist(GWVS) the BBC has alleged in a documentary.

According to the BBC’s documentary on the vessel, Nigerian authorities now charge Tompolo’s security company Global West Vessel Specialists (GWVS) a staggering $ 300 million – about two billion – to operate pirate hunting and tax collection along the Nigerian coast.

Dagbladet reported that at least nine former Norwegian naval vessel now performs armed mission and paramilitary companies in West Africa.
