TIRANA – The majestic Arena Kombëtare, the jewel of the Albanian capital Tirana, is usually reserved for monumental clashes.
But yesterday, the stadium’s pristine pitch was turned into a bloodbath as the Slovakia Women’s Under-19 side absolutely slaughtered Liechtenstein WU19, running out emphatic 11-0 winners in the Qualification Round One.
It was an eleven-goal tidal wave that swept through the neutral venue, leaving the Liechtenstein youngsters red-faced and shell-shocked.
If they were hoping the trip to the Balkans would be a picturesque experience, they were sorely mistaken—it turned into a full-blown horror show.
The ground, which hosted the UEFA Conference League final just a few short years ago, saw its nets bulging with a shocking regularity. Slovakia, who are hosting the mini-tournament in Group B2, clearly brought their finishing boots, with the scoring starting faster than a flash of lightning.
Goals from Gondová (who bagged a brace) and Kramlíková (another double) before the first-half drinks break set the tone for the afternoon.
By the time the ref blew for half-time, the score was already a truly brutal 7-0.
The second half brought no respite for the poor souls from Liechtenstein. The Slovakian girls, led by a ruthless attack, simply kept piling on the pressure, notching up four more to bring the final tally to eleven.
It was a performance that had one eye on the goal difference column and the other on making the Arena Kombëtare a place of dread for any future opponents.
This was not just a win; it was a statement of pure, clinical demolition, proving that in Tirana, a qualification clash can quickly become a monumental mismatch.
