ABUJA – NIGERIAN President Bola Tinubu has spoken of his heartbreak after “heartless terrorists” snatched schoolgirls and killed a top General and his men and a Vice Principal in two devastating attacks.
The Commander-in-Chief ordered a “swift” and “decisive” response from his security forces, promising that those who threaten the nation’s safety will face the “full weight of the Nigerian state.”
President Tinubu revealed he was “heartbroken” by the kidnapping of the young students in Kebbi State, and the “painful loss” of Brigadier General Musa Uba and his brave soldiers who were slain in Borno.
He admitted he was “depressed” by the tragic death of the officers and troops on active duty, offering his prayers to the bereaved families.
The President was particularly distressed that terrorists had “disrupted the education of innocent schoolgirls.”
In a fiery directive to his top brass, he demanded: “I have directed the security agencies to act swiftly and bring the girls back to Kebbi State.”
Tinubu confirmed he is “fully apprised” of the recent surge in violent extremism across parts of the country.
He has ordered security agencies to respond with “urgency, clarity, and decisive action.”
The Nigerian leader stressed the need for ordinary citizens to chip in and help track down the thugs.
”Our forces need the full cooperation of every community,” he insisted. “Sharing information can save lives and protect our children.”
He concluded with a stern warning to the evil gangs targeting the innocent: “Those who threaten the safety of our citizens will face the full weight of the Nigerian state.”
