There was a sharp drop in sales at the box office during the week compared with figures that were churned out the previous week but good enough for distributors to smile to the banks.

At number five is The Monuments Men, put together by Sonny Pictures. The film made the sum of $8.1 million after passing through 3,064 cinemas in the US to get to the fifth position on the chart. At number4 is the film RoboCop. A production of Sonny Pictures, RoboCop grossed $9.4 million from the 3,372 cinemas where it was exhibited to clinch number 3 on the box office chart.

Pompeii, a new entrant, Put together by TriStar, rallied to the third position on the chart. That film put the sum of $10.010 million into the hands of distributors after passing through 2,658 theatres in the US to retain that position on the chart.

Another newcomer, 3 Days to Kill made it to number 2 on the box office chart. A production of Relativity Studios, 3 Days to Kill garnered $12.3 million from 2,872 viewing centres in the US to retain the second position on the chart.

However, the most patronized movie at the Box Office during the week is The Lego Movie. A production of Warner Brothers, The Lego Movie rewarded distributors with the sum of $31.450 million after touring 3,890 cinemas in the US to retain the first position for the second time in two weeks.
