January 4, 2015 – Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola today called on residents of the state to vote the All Progressive Congress APC governorship candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode during the election to enable him complete the good works he has started.

Fashola who was speaking at a rally in Surulere said the job of building Lagos is already half done and yet to be completed.

He explained that though he has been widely acclaimed for the work he is doing in the state, the job is yet to be completed, adding that Lagosians have the opportunity of getting the job completed if they vote for the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode.

He added that the election of APC candidate as governor would enable Ambode to reinvest in the future of the state.

“We have been doing good work and even doing the Federal Government’s work. Those at the centre only steal money. Government that loves the people will improve electricity. That is why you must get your Permanent Voter Cards to exercise your right. They have stated sharing it and I have been told that my PVC is ready, but I wont collect until you all collect your PVC.”

In his address at the rally, Ambode promised to deliver 1,140 new roads in all the local government and the local council development areas in the state within his first year in office.

He explained that 20 new roads would be constructed in each of the 57 councils as part of his plans to re-create new inner roads and making life more comfortable for the people.

Ambode said he would create employment fund with zero interest. He also promised to cater for widows, single parents and aged in the state.

“We want to continue with the tradition of excellence, good governance and performance stated almost 16 years ago. We have plans for the people of Surulere, especially in the areas of tourism, sports and entertainment.”

Also in his remark, Kabir Lawal (Caesar), representing Surulere Constituency I, said the Surulere area had a formidable representation in the person of Desmond Elliot and others in the coming election.
