The Hobbit Displaces Exodus to Lead Box Office Sales

December 21, 2014 – The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies put up an impressive performance at the weekend to lead weekend sales when it returned $56.220 million to Werner Brothers after touring 3, 875 viewing centres to emerge as the most patronized film in box office sales.

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb another new film put together by Fox pictures is number 2. The film raked $17.3 million after passing through 3,785 viewing centres in the US.

Annie 2014, which is also new at the box office rallied to number 3 with total sales of $16.3 million from 3,116 cinema outfit. It is a production of Sony Pictures.

Exodus: Gods and Kings, which was number 1 last week dropped to number 4 when sales tumbled to $8.065 million. The Hunger Games: Mokingjay Part 2 managed to occupy number 5 when sales went down to 7.750 million in box office sales.

Other new films that made it to the box office during the week are P.K, Mr. Turner and Song of the Sea.
