LAGOS, Nigeria – In a surprising turn of events that has captivated the Nigerian entertainment industry, Nollywood actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh has announced a formal reconciliation with her former husband, businessman Olakunle Churchill, ending a decade of public hostility.

The news broke on Saturday, January 24, 2026, after Dikeh shared an emotional message on her social media platforms, describing the reunion as a “divine restoration” and a “living testimony.”

Tonto Dikeh announced the development on Instagram and Facebook, showing that the long-standing wall of silence and bitterness between her and Churchill has finally crumbled.

Reflecting on the ten-year journey since their initial separation, she characterized the breakthrough as a spiritual transformation rather than a human effort.

”After ten long years of public battles, deep wounds, broken communication, bitterness, and pain, God stepped in,” Dikeh wrote. “What looked ugly, impossible, and beyond repair has been touched by mercy.”

She specifically expressed gratitude to Churchill—whom she referred to as “Dr. Kunle”—for “yielding to God’s word and choosing peace.” The actress noted that the reconciliation was anchored in humility, forgiveness, and a shared love for their son, King Andre Churchill.

She emphasized that the renewed relationship is now built on mutual respect, replacing the anger that once defined their public interactions.

The announcement was met with a wave of support from fans and colleagues, many of whom have watched the pair’s highly publicized disputes play out in the media since 2017. Dikeh concluded her message by encouraging others facing similar hardships to maintain faith, stating, “Your story is not over.”

To understand the significance of this reconciliation, it is important to look back at the timeline of their relationship:
The Meeting (2014): The pair met at a nightclub in Lagos during a birthday celebration for Churchill’s brother.

Marriage and Fatherhood (2015–2016): They held a high-profile traditional wedding in August 2015 in Rivers State. In February 2016, they welcomed their son, King Andre.

The Split (2017): The marriage dissolved amid intense media scrutiny and mutual allegations.

By June 2017, Dikeh’s father reportedly returned the bride price to Churchill’s family.

The “Decade of Bitterness”: Between 2017 and 2025, the two were embroiled in various legal and social media battles involving custody disputes, allegations of forgery, and defamation lawsuits.

Dikeh often spoke about the challenges of being a single parent during this time.

This 2026 reconciliation marks a definitive end to one of Nollywood’s most storied and contentious public feuds.
