April 13, 2015 – Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal has been declared winner of the governorship election held on Saturday in Sokoto State.
Tambuwal polled 647,609 votes to defeat Mr. Abdallah Wali of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 269,074 votes.
The speaker vied for the position on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
