The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC),Mallam Mele Kyari, has described the recently approved rehabilitation exercise of the 210,000 barrels per day capacity Port Harcourt Refinery as a worthy undertaking embarked upon after diligent consideration and in strict adherence to industry best standards.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari today approved 1.5billion USD for the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt Refinery in Rivers State. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva made the revelation while speaking to State House correspondents on the outcome of the Council meeting. He said rehabilitation will be done in three phases of 18, 24 and 44 months
