ZAMFARA, Nigeria – The Supreme Court today ruled that candidate of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in the 2019 governorship election was not validly elected  during the party primaries.

In a unanimous judgment delivered by a five-man panel led by the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, the Supreme court declared Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) that came second in the 2019 general election  as winner.

Justice Paul Galinje, who read the lead judgment upheld the decision of the Sokoto Division of the Court of Appeal to the effect that the APC did not conduct any valid primary election and as such had no candidate for any of the elections in the state and that the votes recorded by the APC during the election was nothing but  a total waste.
