September 29, 2015 – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase has described  intelligence based policing as the surest way of riding the society of crime and criminality in line with international best practices.

Arase who stated this when he played host to the chairman of BEN Television Alistair Soyode and the Initiator of Nigerians in Diaspora Mentoring Corp, said that the force is doing everything possible to reduce friction between the officers and the general public.

While commending Soyode for the unique role the television station is playing especially as it pertains to changing the narratives of Africans and Nigerians in particular to the international community, he  said the force will be willing at all time to partner with them in the actualization of set goals.

On the forth coming Nigeria’s celebration, he assured that all has been put in place to ensure security of lives and property and urged youths to shun all forms of violence adding that the force will not condone any form of disregard for law and order.

On his part, BEN Television CEO who also doubles as Commandant, Nigeria in Diaspora Mentoring Corps said that BEN television was born out of the desire to change the perception of the world concerning the black race.

“When I got to the United Kingdom some years back there was no television channel that tells story of the African people the way it should be told, I also wanted to tell the world that Africans, especially Nigerians are also capable of doing great things and be celebrated; so the desire became a dream and that dream gave birth to the station 13 years ago.”
