Super Eagles Suffer Shocking 3-2 Defeat in Calabar

September 6, 2014 – Africa’s champions, the Super Eagles on Saturday suffered a humiliating 3- 2 defeat from the visiting Congolese side in Calabar.

The Super Eagles took the lead in the 14th minute through Efe Ambrose, who headed in fellow defender Elderson Echiejile’s kick. Congolese levelled up three minutes later through Prince Oniangue. The second goal came in through Thiery Bifouma before half time.

Bifouma however put the visitor ahead 10 minutes into the second half through penalty kick.

Substitute Gbolahan Salami however pulled a goal back for Nigeria in stoppage time but the Congo side were better off and left the pitch with 3- 2 home defeat of the Super Eagles.
