KALININGRAD, Russia – Super Eagles icon, Kanu Nwankwo is paying dearly for honouring a FIFA organised game, tagged, FIFA Legends VS Russia Legend in Kaliningrad, Russia on Sunday
The Mirror newspaper, reported that Kanu (41), reported to authorities that he lost £8,000 after arriving Kaliningrad for the game organized by the world football ruling body to honour legends of football.According to Russian police the was stolen by two loaders aged 30 and 36 at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport but were caught by television footage.
Speaking on the incident, Spokesperson for the Russian Interior Ministry, Lieutenant Colonel Irina Volk said the loaders were dealing with the baggage from a London to Moscow flight.
“The stolen cash was removed (from the loaders) and will soon be returned to the owner,” she assured.
