The suicide attack took place just as the Nigeria Army has confirmed retaking Chibok from members of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
“Terrorists who attacked Chibok town early yesterday have been effectively flushed out. Subsequent mopping up is still ongoing,” Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade said in a statement.

He said troops are presently in hot pursuit of fleeing members of the insurgents but that Chibok is now secured.
