April 28, 2015 – Students of the Lagos State University (LASU) have given the Governor Babatunde Fashola led Lagos State Government  and the university management 48 hours ultimatum to reopen the university for academic activities to return or be ready for any eventuality.

In a statement, Public Relations Officer, of LASU Student Union Government, Mr. Adebanjo Fatai condemned continued closure of the school under the appellation of recess, nothing that the development is saddening.

“With a saddened and bleeding heart, the Students’ Union of Lasu wholeheartedly condemns the online bulletin released by the University Management that the “declared recess is still very much in force”

“The Students’ Union of LASU respectfully assert that the online bulletin released by LASU Management shows how irrational and reckless the Management is towards the Reopening of LASU.

“The love of LASUites is never in the heart of the Management as we can deduce that the management and the State Govt is not ready to reopen the school as they are not forthcoming with regards to the issue of resumption”, he said in the statement.

He added that LASU  SUG condemns and rejects in totality the online bulletin released by LASU Management that ” the recess is very much in force” since most  of their mates in other universities across the country are already graduating.
