CALABAR – House of Representative member representing Calabar Municipality on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Rivers State, Mr.Stanley Isemo has been arrested in Rivers State.
Stanley Isemo who is the Director General of the Cross River State Signage And Advertisement Agency; Stanley Nsemo was arrested in Calabar by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on suspicion of vote buying after discovering the sum of USD 450 and N156,800 on him.
Also arrested was Dr. Cletus Tyokyaa, a lecturer with the Sarwuan Tarka University (formerly known as the University of Agriculture), Makurdi, Benue State. The lecturer was arrested at the RCM Polling Unit in Daudu, Guma Local Government Area with the sum of N306,700 in various denominations stashed in his car.
Luck ran out of Tyokyaa when he drove into a unit which was different from his polling unit and tried to run upon sighting operatives of the EFCC.
Under interrogation, Dr. Tyokyaa, who could not provide a coherent explanation was searched and money in various denominations. He was released after making confessional statements.
