AWKA, Anambra – The Chairman of the Anambra State Civil Service Commission, Sir Tony Ezenwaka, has reaffirmed that the administration of Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is deeply committed to the welfare of workers in the state.
Sir Tony made this statement during a solidarity visit by the Anambra State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Sir Humphrey Emeka Nwafor.
A union leader and former Permanent Secretary in the Anambra State Civil Service, Sir Tony called on workers to lend their support to the Soludo administration, as it strives to improve the state.
He said that Governor Soludo is dedicated to the comprehensive development of Anambra, focusing on all sectors without discrimination.
He praised the Governor for staying focused on the state’s development, despite external criticisms, and for not being distracted by noise.
Sir Tony made it clear that his primary concern is the well-being of the workers, emphasizing that his appointment is a reflection of his commitment to selfless service, not politics.
He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in his current role and called on God to grant him the strength to serve diligently.
He also requested the support of Comrade Nwafor and the NLC to help him and his team deliver the best outcomes for the state’s workers. Furthermore, he urged continued backing for Governor Soludo’s re-election to ensure that the progress made for workers’ welfare continues.
The Chairman of the Civil Service Commission expressed sympathy for Governor Soludo, acknowledging the numerous challenges facing the administration.
However, he lauded the Governor for his consistent commitment to responsive and responsible leadership. Sir Tony also reflected on his gratitude for the opportunities provided to him, particularly his previous role as Permanent Secretary, which allowed him to contribute to the state’s development before his current appointment.
Earlier, the NLC Chairman for Anambra State, Comrade Sir Humphrey Emeka Nwafor, assured Sir Tony of his full support and that of the workers to ensure the creation of a prosperous and livable state.
He conveyed his solidarity with the Chairman and emphasized the importance of unity for the betterment of workers’ welfare.
He also commended Governor Soludo for the ongoing rehabilitation of the Civil Service Commission headquarters, acknowledging the Chairman’s patience in enduring the inconvenience caused by the construction work.
Comrade Nwafor expressed agreement with Sir Tony’s assertion that Governor Soludo is focused on the state’s simultaneous development, without engaging in unnecessary public grandstanding.
In closing, both leaders reiterated their commitment to working together for the welfare of Anambra’s workers and the continued growth of the state.
