AWKA, Nigeria – Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, has officially signed six new laws designed to promote investment and strengthen security across the state.

According to a statement issued by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, the signing ceremony took place at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia,Awka South local government council.

Governor Soludo was joined at the event by key government officials, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, the Majority Leader, Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, among others.

The newly enacted laws span a broad range of sectors, reflecting the administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life for Anambra residents.

Prominent among the new legislations are the Anambra State Development and Investment Corporation Law, 2025, and the Anambra State Electricity Law, 2025, both expected to significantly enhance the state’s economic development and energy infrastructure.

The Anambra State Homeland Security (Amendment) Law, 2025 was signed to strengthen security measures.

Also enacted were the Anambra State Herbal Practice Law, 2024, and the Anambra State Indigenous Traditional Medicine Practices Law, 2025, both aimed at incorporating traditional healthcare systems into the state’s medical framework.

The Anambra State Mission Schools of Nursing and Midwifery (Amendment No. 2) Law, 2025 was also signed, with the goal of raising the standard of nursing and midwifery education in the state.

During the signing, Governor Soludo commended the collaborative efforts between the Executive and the State House of Assembly, noting the positive impact these laws are expected to have on communities throughout Anambra.

He also expressed optimism for continued cooperation in future legislative initiatives that support the state’s growth and the well-being of its people.

As these laws come into effect, they mark another significant milestone in Governor Soludo’s vision for a prosperous, secure, and forward-moving Anambra State.
