AWKA, Nigeria – The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo, has called for strengthened collaboration between the Nigerian Army and his administration in the fight against crime and criminality within the state.
Governor Soludo made the appeal during the Major General O.T. Olatoye Special Sallah Luncheon, held in celebration of Eid al-Adha at the Onitsha Military Cantonment.
In his address, he expressed deep appreciation for the relentless efforts of the Armed Forces and local vigilante groups in maintaining peace and security across Anambra.

In response, Major General Adewale Adekeye underscored the significance of the Special Sallah event not only as a celebration but as a moment for reflection on the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces.
He reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to maintaining peace, enforcing the rule of law, and fostering harmony within the community.
“We gather to celebrate and to remember the sacrifices of everyone, including our pilgrims,” he said.
