NASARAWA UNITED 3 – 0 WARRI WOLVES

It was a masterclass in clinical finishing at the Jos International Stadium on Sunday as Nasarawa United turned on the style, dismantling Warri Wolves in a dominant 3-0 victory that left the visitors searching for answers.

While the Wolves arrived looking to bite, it was the Solid Miners who showed their teeth. The afternoon belonged to the trio of Victor Chimezie, Ngei Oluka-Efor, and Habibu Alakija, whose individual brilliance combined to create a scoreline that reflected Nasarawa’s absolute control.

The tension was palpable until the 43rd minute when the breakthrough finally arrived. After a period of relentless pressure, United were awarded a penalty. Up stepped Victor Chimezie, the man for the big occasion.

With the composure of a veteran, he sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, slotting home to give the hosts a deserved lead just before the interval.

If the first half was about persistence, the second was about pure quality. In the 61st minute, Ngei Oluka-Efor doubled the advantage.

Exploiting a lapse in the Wolves’ defensive line, the star attacker produced a moment of magic to make it 2-0, effectively killing off any hope of a Warri comeback.

Alakija Puts the Seal On It
The icing on the cake was delivered by Habibu Alakija in the 73rd minute. As Warri Wolves pushed forward in a desperate attempt to find a lifeline, Nasarawa hit them on the break. Alakija’s sharp movement and tidy finish ensured the three points were staying in Lafia, capping off a performance that will surely have the rest of the NPFL on high alert.

The Verdict
For Warri Wolves, it was a day to forget—a “toothless” display that sees them slip further down the standings. For Nasarawa United, however, this wasn’t just a win; it was a statement.

With their stars firing on all cylinders, the Solid Miners are proving they can outshine anyone on their day.
