BURKINA FASO – President Roch Kabore of Burkina Faso has been detained by soldiers, the BBC has reported.
According to reports, Kabore was detained and asked to resign over poor treatment of soldiers in the forefront of the battle against terrorists.
Gun fires were reportedly heard within the Presidential Palace overnight and in barracks in the capital city of Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso.
We gathered that troops had demanded for the replacement of top military chiefs and allotment of more resources to fight against Islamic militants.
Report indicated that official armoured vehicles used by the presidency riddled with bullets have been abandoned in the streets near the Presidential Palace.
