December 02, 2015 – At least one soldier and three terrorists have been killed in a gun battle following attack on Gulak and Gajigana by members of the terror sect, Boko Haram.
In a statement, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, said some of the terrorist escaped with gun shots.
“Following the attack on the town of Gulak and Gajigana which was repelled by the quick reimbursement of more soldiers to the area, led to the killing of 3 Boko Haram terrorists, while quite a number escaped with gunshot wounds.
“A soldier also died in the fierce battle. Presently, the town of Gulak and Gajigana remain calm and the situation is under the control”, he said.
According to him, the changing tactics of the Boko Haram terrorists requires collective efforts of the locals in giving timely information to the military and other security agencies for swift response in order to get rid of the terrorists since they easily blend with locals.
“Consequently, the military will continue to do all it could with the support of the locals in order to protect lives and property, while urging the citizens to be on alert and be security conscious at all times”, he said.
