September 6, 2014 – The government of Sierra Leone says it is shutting down the city for three days as part of effort to contain Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).

according to CCTV, twenty-one thousand people will be recruited to enforce the lockdown in addition to dozens of soldiers and policemen.

Health officials say those recruited will go from house to house to find out those who are asymptomatic to EVD.

The three days lockdown will kick off September 18.
Ebola has killed 430 people in Sierra Leone out of 1,216 suspected cases in Sierra Leone. There are 1,107 confirmed cases in the Sierra Leone.
