A VILE police officer who boasted about using force against a young woman in custody has been booted out of the force today.
PC Charlie Cano was sacked without notice after a misconduct hearing heard he took part in “inappropriate and discriminatory” chats about female members of the public.
The disgraced officer—part of the Met’s Central West Command Unit—was caught out after a bombshell BBC Panorama investigation aired last October.
SHAMEFUL FOOTAGE
While the original broadcast sent shockwaves through Scotland Yard, it was unaired “extra footage” handed to the police watchdog that finally sealed Cano’s fate.
The sickening clips captured Cano:
Making disrespectful and sexist remarks about women.
Bragging about using physical force on a young female detainee.
Violating standards of equality, diversity, and professional respect.
’APPALLING BEHAVIOUR’
Commander Simon Messinger, the Met’s head of Professionalism, didn’t hold back today, branding the officer’s actions “appalling.”
”We moved swiftly to act upon the additional footage shared by the BBC to identify PC Cano, immediately suspend him from duty, and hold him to account,” Messinger said.
He revealed that Cano is just one of eight officers who have now been kicked off the force following the scandal at Charing Cross police station.
CULTURE OF CRUELTY
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is still crawling over the station as their investigation into a “toxic culture” continues.
The Met insisted today that the “robust action” is part of a “tireless” plan to clean up the streets and the stations. But for many Londoners, the fact that such a “brute” was wearing a uniform at all remains a bitter pill to swallow.
PC Cano was found to have breached professional standards for discreditable conduct, authority, and courtesy. He leaves the force immediately with his reputation in tatters.
