September 30, 2015 – Senator Representing Kogi West in the Nigerian Senate, Mr. Dino Melaye who is one of those allegedly penciled down by forces in the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) for punishment for taking side with President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki is spoiling for a showdown when President Muhammadu Buhari submits list of ministers to the Senate for screening.
The senator who was addressing journalists in Abuja said it will no longer be business as usual adding that unlike before when some categories of people are told to take a bow and leave, the Senate will this time around carry out a thorough screening exercise.
He also hit at Senator Marafa who caused a stir in the senate when the house passed a vote of confidence on Saraki, stressing that though Deputy Senate President, Mr. Ike Ekweremadu has apologized on behalf of the Senate to Nigerians, it will be the last time that the Senate will tolerate such an unruly behaviour.
He said that although the Senate has rule to suspend any member, it will pardon the lawmaker for this offence but that it will not tolerate such an unruly behaviour next time.
