May, 30, 2015 – President, Federation of International Football(FIFA) Sepp Blatter(79) has been elected for the fifth term as president of FIFA.

Blatter failed to secure two-third majority of the first vote, but the withdrawal of Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan, his main contender paved the way for Blatter to return for another four years.

FIFA has 209 federations and each has an equal vote.

Throughout his tenure, Blatter has curried favor with many of the poorer nations and got to stage with massive support from Africa and Asia against the 39 year old Jordanian whose campaign has been based on transparency.

FIFA has been severally accused of corruption within its top hierarchy.
