ABUJA, Nigeria – The three policemen caught in a viral video slapping and flogging a well dressed gentleman at Elibrada Junction, Emohua in Rivers State have been dispatched to Force Headquarters, Abuja, for orderly room trial.
Recall that the Commissioner of Police, River State, CP Okon Effiong ordered the arrest of the three policemen in picture above, now identified as Inspector Adejoh Siaka, Inspector Friday Obaka and Sgt. Ndiwa Kpuebari.
One of the officers was seen in the video slapping and flogging the well dressed gentleman who was going out with his woman. From the video, the gentle did not retaliate, he only asked,” I thief?”, in the midst of the assault.
Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi had promised that the matter will never be swept under the carpet, stressing that slapping, flogging had nothing to do with arresting a suspect with minimum force.
Providing an update on the incident, Adejobi said the officers, who satisfied their ego by slapping and flogging the gentleman in the present of his woman before hounding them into the Toyota Corolla have arrived Abuja.
He also said orderly room trial will soon commence for the men for breaching their rules of engagement.
“Inspector Adejoh Siaka; Inspector Friday Obaka, and Sgt. Ndiwa Kpuebari from Rivers State. These are the men who slapped a man on the road in Rivers.
“They reported at the Force Headquarters today. Trial will soon commence. We will update you as soon as possible”, Adejobi said.
