June 9, 2015 – Former Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Bukola Saraki was this morning elected President of the Senate.
He was unanimously elected. They were 57 members in the Senate and they all voted in the Senate for Saraki but 51 Senators were absent during the election.
The Senate is now deciding by vote to decide who will emerge as Deputy Senate President. Details later.
