Nigeria, March 27, 2016 – Aiyetoro-Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi was on Saturday shut down by human and vehicular traffic when the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki led over 40 Senators to grace the wedding between former Miss Elizabeth Folashade Melaye and her husband, Wale Dare.
No fewer than 15 members of the House of Representatives and prominent Nigerians across ethnic and religious divides also attended the event, which brought together members of the 8th National Assembly from both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Although Saraki could not attend the traditional engagement held earlier on Saturday, the Apostolic Church, Ilu-Afon, where the church wedding took place was filled with friends and political allies of the Chairman, Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and emerging godfather of Kogi State politics.
Apart from Saraki, others among the over 40 Senator include Senators Abiodun Olujinmi (PDP, Ekiti State); Ali Ndume and Andy Uba (PDP Anambra).
