IYALA, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria -The Nigerian Union of Journalist, NUJ has said it is draging five media houses to court for owing members salary arrears between 15 to 48 months.




Chairman, NUJ, Lagos, Mr. Deji Elumoye who made the revelation during the February edition of the monthly congress of the union in Ikeja, Lagos said the union is starting the legal battle with five media houses, adding that other media outfits will be dealth with in due course.

The affected media oufits are Tell Magazine indebted to workers to the tune of 18 months, Champion Newspapers 48 months, Daar Communications( Raypower and AIT)15 to 18, Union Newspapers 18 months and National Mirror Newspapers 15 months.

The chairman said he has informed NUJ lawyer, G.T Ogunye who has vowed to meet with the union and representatives of affected media outfit to perfect the suit early next week.

He told the house that the lawyer promised to get a date in the comming week to commence hearing.
