ODESSA – The Russian Armed Forces unleashed mayhem in overnight strikes on Odessa, Zhytomyr and other regions in a fierce revenge over the decision of Armed Forces of Ukraine, AFU to detonate explosives on the bridge linking Russia to Crimea, killing a couple, while their only child was injured.
It is the second time that Ukraine has attacked the Crimea bridge since the beginning of the war tagged a special military operation by Russia.
“One of our worst nights. We don’t remember this scale of attack since the start of a full-scale invasion”, Mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov said of the attacks.
At least 26 substations, including port infrastructures and oil depots in Odessa have been completely destroyed to cripple any attempt by Ukraine to continue grain export from Odessa through the Black Sea to Europe.
Sergei Nagornyak, a member of committee on Energy and Housing and communal services said about 10 billion Hryvnias will be needed to fix what has been destroyed in the 26 substations.
Large fires were also recorded at the Shkolny military Airfield and in nearby oil depots as a barrage of cruise missiles were launched from Crimea and the Black Sea to Odessa.
Already, the social media is littered with dead bodies of Ukrainian servicemen at Kleshcheevka, while some soldiers surrendered in the Zaporozhye to their RAF with their hands raised up.
Confirming the scale of attacks, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that at the morning conference call, he heard information about the night time Russian strikes on Odessa, Zhytomyr and other regions.
“Russian terrorists absolutely deliberately targeted the infrastructure of the grain agreement and every Russian missile is a blow not only to Ukraine but also to everyone in the world who seeks a normal and safe life”, he said.
He said he has informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intensify contacts with partners to increase pressure on the terrorist state and continue the normal export of Ukrainian grain”..
