ZIMBABWE – The ruling ZANU PF party in Zimbabwe has given President Robert Mugabe up to 12 noon Tuesday to resigned or be disgraced out of office.
In a statement, ZANU PF said Mugabe will be impeached if he fails to resign for serious misconduct, failure to obey, uphold or defend the constitution, willful violation of the constitution and inability to perform the functions of the office because of physical or mental incapacity. The party said Robert Mugabe has become a source of instability by his indiscriminate and continuous dismissal of members of his cabinet including two Vice Presidents in the past 4 years on allegation of plotting to assassinate him and take over power.
The party believes he has abbrogated his constitutional mandate to his wife who makes public utterance on isues of government like appointment and dismissal of government officials and civil servants.
The party said Robert Mugabe will be impeached for lack of meaningul development in the last 15 years, resulting in unprecedented economic tailspin that attracted inflation unprecedented in modern history resulting in the country abandoning its currency in favour of multi-currency system and failure to take steps to stem corruption, like transfer of $ 5 Dollars without approval.
