As Speech Therapist is Charged
By Our Man In LA
POP queen Rihanna was left “freaking out” after a crazed gunman allegedly tried to assassinate her while her three tiny children played just yards away.
The Umbrella singer, 38, was caught in a terrifying midday blitz when a woman allegedly sprayed her £11 million Beverly Hills mansion with a high-powered assault rifle.
In a scene like a Hollywood action movie, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, is said to have pulled up in a white Tesla and squeezed off ten rounds from an AR-15-style weapon.
Rihanna and her partner A$AP Rocky were reportedly inside a trailer on the grounds of the estate when the lead began to fly. Her mother and the couple’s three children—sons RZA and Riot, and baby girl Rocki—were also on the property.
One bullet reportedly pierced an exterior wall of the house, while five more were found peppered across the front gate.
Ortiz, a licensed speech therapist from Florida, appeared in a Los Angeles court yesterday looking a world away from her professional life. Clad in blue jail scrubs with her blonde hair in braids, she faced a staggering 14 felony counts, including attempted murder.
Prosecutors revealed the terrifying scale of the attack, charging her with 10 counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm—one for every soul on the property at the time of the shooting.
It has since emerged that the suspect may have been fueled by a dark, online obsession. Just days before the shooting, a chilling post surfaced on social media where Ortiz targeted the singer, making vile and baseless claims about her health and demanding she “say something to me directly.”
A source close to the star said:
”Rihanna is tough, but this has shaken her to the core. To have someone come to your home, where your babies sleep, with a machine gun… it’s every parent’s worst nightmare.”
Ortiz was tracked down by a police helicopter and nabbed at a shopping mall 30 minutes after the shooting. A judge has now slapped her with a $1.8 million (£1.4m) bail and a strict “stay away” order.
The superstar is said to have “ramped up” her security to war-zone levels as she prepares to face her attacker in court later this month. If convicted, Ortiz faces spending the rest of her life behind bars.
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, the glitzy peace of a Beverly Hills gated community was shattered at approximately 1:15 p.m. Rihanna, 38, was on her property with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky (37), their three young children—RZA (3), Riot Rose (2), and baby daughter Rocki—and the singer’s mother.
A woman allegedly pulled up in a white Tesla and unleashed a “hail of bullets” from an AR-15-style assault rifle.
While the family was miraculously unhurt, the attack has sent shockwaves through the celebrity world, especially following revelations about the suspect’s bizarre social media obsession with the star.
