Ride Along Maintains Lead at Box Office with $12.3 Million

The records were not impressive at all at the box office during the week compared with statistics that came out the previous week. But it was good enough for filmmakers to top their earnings at the box office. Lone Survivor is still in contention, hanging on at number 5.

Put together by Universal Studios, the film yielded $7.161, 000 after passing through 3,285 cinemas in the US to clinch that spot on the chat. Sitting comfortably in number 4 is the film Nut Job, distributed by Open Road Films(ORF). The film made $7,278, 450 after featuring in 3,472 theatres in the US to make it to number 4 on the chart.

A new entrant by name, That Awkward Moment is the third best films at the US box office during the week. Put together by Focus pictures, That Awkward Moment made $9,010,000 after passing through 2, 809 cinemas in the US to clinch the third position on the chart. Frozen which is spending the eleventh week in the box office shot up to number 2 this week after adding $9,310,000 to all it has been making since it debuted on the box office scene. Put together by Buena Vista, the film had exposure in 2,754 cinemas in the US to maintain that spot on the chart.

And then the most patronised film at the box office during the week was Ride Along. Distributed by Universal Pictures, Ride Along grossed a total sum of $12,314,000 to retain number one on the chart after passing through 2,867 cinema outfits in the US to retain that spot on the chart. But don’t forget that Ride Along was put together with a budget of $25 million yet it has grossed a total sum of $92, 977, 000 in just three weeks of touring the US box office.
