ABUJA, Nigeria – Controller General of Nigerian Custom, Col. Hameed Ali has been called upon to resign.
The call for resignation came after the Senate met behind closed door on Wednesday following his refusal to appear before the Senate.
The Senate had on Thursday walked him out of the red chamber for refusing to appear before it in uniform to explain the rationale for directing vehicle owners to pay duties on cars.
He was again invited to appear today, Wednesday but instead of appearing he headed to the court to challenged the right of the Senate to ask him to appear before it in uniform.
