Addition of the machines were announced when the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode commissioned the  expanded dialysis centre and dental unit of the  Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG).

The governor was however represented at the event by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Jemilade  Adegoriola Longe.

Statistics made available by  RCCG suggests that  that 30 million Nigerians are suffering from  kidney disease, requiring dialysis and would need at least 12,000 machines to care for their needs, whereas only 200 machines are available to serve them.
