Derby County delivered a masterclass in counter-attacking clinical precision at Fratton Park, securing a vital 0–2 victory over a dominant Portsmouth side to claim their first Championship win of the season.
Star forward Sammie Szmodics proved to be the ultimate difference-maker on the night, breaking the deadlock early before substitute striker Lars-Jørgen Salvesen stepped off the bench to double the advantage and seal all three points.
