MOSCOW – President Vladimir Putin of Russia has accused the United States of America, USA and its allies of provoking the present arms race.

In a broadcast. Putin insisted that Washington is simply using Ukraine as a pretext to expand its own military presence towards the Russian border.

He cited promises of the United States to station missiles close to Russian territory.

According to him, Tokyo has already indicated its intention to break Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia so as to allow Washington to station its MRC Typhon missile systems on Japanese territory.

He described the Typhon complex as capable of launching Tomahawk cruise missiles, with a range of up to 1.8k km, as well as Standard SM-6 multi-purpose missiles, whose current range is around 500 km.

According to him, the maritime border between Japan and Russia is just 194 km.
