IKEJA, Lagos – A 28- year old prophet, referred to as Imole Stephen was today arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate court for fraudulently obtaining the sum of N800,000 from Mrs. Tolani and Oluwaseun Ariyo under false pretence.
He was charged with a five count charge of fraud and obtaining by false pretence contrary to section 312 (a)(b)(2)(3) of the criminal Law of Lagos state.
According to the persecutor,Inspector Benson Emuerhi, the defendant posed as a prophet that assist people to solve problems relating to religion and business and in the process obtained the sum of N300,000 from Miss Tolani Jones as well as N500,000 from Oluwaseun Ariyo with the promise of making provision for clothing materials.
The defendant pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. Magistrate, Mrs O. Sule-Amzat adjourned the case till the 7th of June, 2018.
