LAGOS, Nigeria – A prominent Lagos White Cap High Chief, Fatai Olumegbon is dead. He died of an undisclosed ailment in Ghana. He was 59

Fatai Olumegbon is the head of Idejo Chieftaincy class . He was a former staff of Ojo Local Government, and also served as a supervisory councillor during the military era. He was a kingmaker and one of the most prominent Lagos White Cap chiefs.

Until his death, he worked and related well with the Lagos State Ministry of Culture and Chieftaincy Affairs.

A very dynamic lover of culture, he once rose in stout  defence of  Oba Akiolu, when his kingship was in dispute before Justice Candide Johnson, of an Ikeja High Court.

He told the court that Oba Rilwan Akiolu was chosen by Ifa, the god of divination as the rightful monarch of Lagos.
