ABUJA, Nigeria – The Presidency has said that there was an attempted robbery in the vicinity of Aso Rock in the early hours of Monday but that the attempt was unsuccessful.
Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Garba Shehu made the clarification following reports that armed robbers have invaded Aso Rock.
According to Garba Shehu, the COS, Professor Ibrahim Gambari confirmed that there was a foolish attempt to burgle his resident, which is just a stone throw from Aso Rock.
Ibrahim Gambari, he said has assured that there is nothing to worry about regarding the attempted robbery.
“The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.
“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident”, Garba Shehu said.
