  • LEO: NO CAUSE JUSTIFIES THE BLOOD OF INNOCENTS

By SCM RELIGIOUS REPORTER

POPE Leo XIV launched a blistering attack on the world’s warmongers yesterday, branding the use of bombs and missiles a “blasphemy” against God.

In a stinging message that will send shockwaves through world capitals, the Holy Father declared that no Christian can ever justify the “absurd and inhuman violence” currently tearing through the Middle East.

The Pontiff didn’t pull his punches, warning that those who drop bombs are betraying the “Prince of Peace.”

”God does not bless any conflict,” the Pope warned. “Anyone who is a disciple of Christ is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs.”

He took a direct swipe at military leaders who claim they are fighting for liberty, insisting that “military action will not create space for freedom.” Instead, he argued that true peace only comes from “patient dialogue” between nations.

Innocents Slaughtered
The Pope’s most heartbroken words were reserved for the “Christian East,” where he says sacred places are being profaned by the “brutality of business.”

He slammed cold-hearted commanders who treat the lives of families and children as “collateral damage” in a quest for profit.

”No gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families,” Leo XIV declared. “No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood.”

It wasn’t just the generals in the firing line—the Pope also took aim at the world’s super-rich.

With hundreds of millions living in “extreme poverty,” the Pontiff questioned how “disproportionate wealth” can remain in the hands of a tiny few. He insisted there is enough food and money for everyone, blaming the global crisis on a lack of “moral sense and honesty.”

This latest intervention marks a significant hardening of the Vatican’s stance on global conflict. While Popes have historically called for peace, Leo XIV’s language—specifically calling bombing “blasphemy”—is some of the strongest heard in the modern era.

The “Christian East”: The Pope refers to the ancient Christian communities in regions like Syria, Iraq, and Gaza, which have been decimated by a decade of relentless warfare.

The Wealth Gap: His comments on “equitable distribution” echo a growing Vatican movement to challenge global capitalism, framing poverty not as a lack of resources, but as a failure of human character.
