For the first time in history, policemen on Thursday took to their heel in Lagos when they were caught unaware by the approaching convoy of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola.

The policemen, about four of them in their patrol vehicle were driving leisurely against traffic at the Hajj camp, Muritala Muhammed International Airport unaware of the approaching convoy of the Lagos State Governor that was moving without sirens.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Lagos State and Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Mr. Sulaimon Odumosu with his orderlies were trailing the governor from the rear when they sighted the policemen. He immediately stormed out of his vehicle with his men in pursuit of the policemen who promptly recognised him and took to their heels.

The driver of the vehicle who was not fast enough was arrested along with another civilian vehicle equally driving against traffic in the axis.
