AKOKA, Lagos – Members of the Nigeria Police Force, have engaged students in shooting frenzy at the Federal College of Education, Technical, FCET, Akoka, using live ammunition during a protest by the student for a change of the school provost, Professor Wahab Aseez for bad management.
According to an eye witness, one of the students was shot as his liveless body was carried by the students into a nearby truck to be moved to the hospital for medical attention even as the police continue to engage the students in shooting bout, using live ammunition.
So far several vehicles belonging to the school were damaged during by the students during the protest.
According to sources, the Chairman of the Board of Governing Council, Dr. Olatunji Adenuga had agreed with the protesting students that the needed change of the Provost of the school, Professor Wahab Aseez would be effected only for the school management to call in the police.
The area around Akoka is now a war zone between the police and the students.
