Nigeria, Oct 6, 2016 – The Nigerian Police Force has confirmed release of former Minister of Environment, Mrs. Laurentia Laraba Mallam and her husband Pius by kidnappers.
The former Minister and her husband were kidnapped on Monday along Kwali Jali area on Kaduna-Abuja highway.
But Commissioner of Police in Kaduna, ASP Aliu Usman said they regained freedom on Wednesday evening adding that nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident. He however said the police is doing everything possible to bring the kidnappers to book.
However, there are reports that the family paid undisclosed sum of money to secure their freedom from the kidnappers.
