COLOGNE – German police are searching for a man following an explosion at a building in the centre of Cologne that left one person slightly injured.

The man who fled after the exploion is believed to be “connected to the crime,” investigators said.

Video surveillance recordings were said to be available.

The explosion in a building entrance early Monday morning caused minor injuries to one person and extensive damage to doors and windows.

Police spokesman said that the act was likely to have been intentional.

The injured person is a 53-year-old man, as the police further reported.

The area in which the explosion occurred was initially cordoned off over a wide area.
